Robot Riot Sprint Blog 5
This sprint was one where I got a lot of useful feedback for my art, and I was able to create great things as a result! The first thing I was assigned to do was make victory screens for all of the playable bots! I suggested a color coordinated background for each bot, and the idea was met with approval! I am quite proud of said background, and I’m glad making that suggestion paid off for a nice victory screen!
The next task I was assigned to do was to make head sprites to act as a life counter. Having test played the game myself, I noticed the life counter were currently white boxes, so I was happy to take this task on. Every time I draw the bots, I always try to give them distinct personalities. Despite only drawing their heads for this task, I hope I was still able to make them distinct and unique from one another. I also played around with the bloom effect for these sprites to see if I can improve the glow even better. While I am proud of what I have now, I want to see if I can improve for a future project.
I am very proud of the 2D artwork that I did for this sprint, and I look forward to what I’m going to make with sprint 6! Also, I finally managed to playtest a build of Robot Riot, and I love what the game looks like so far! It’s colorful, it’s silly, and it’s just a fun time for everyone! I can’t wait to see how the final game turns out, and I only hope my art can play a part in that!
